Riquelme retires from international football

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

Shocking is my word for it. Juan Roman Riquelme was certainly one of the key players in the Argentine world cup team and at 28 had a long & illustrious career ahead of him. I love the way he slows down the game and takes his own sweet time to choose whom to pass to

Hope his mother recovers and he gets back to the game. The sport sure does need him

Villa drawing Arsenal and that too thanks to a late goal from Gilberto Silva was not on the plan, nor did I expect Liverpool to draw against Sheffield United. On Arsenal, looks like they are gelling well at the start of the season. I see a lot of moves being knit and woven together in the midfiled thanks to Gilberto Silva and Fabregas … Henry doing his usual thing in the box. I like what I see, but dont quite know how much they would miss Ashley Cole

The Chelsea folks for sure are going to be smiling at the results on day 1
