Dude, don't recommend WEP as the encryption scheme. Try WPA or WPA2

@ateeq

If you are referring to the WEP/WPA key, then that is something that is configured in the Wi-Fi access point
If this is your own Wi-Fi router, then you should be able to login into the router (most probably at 192.168.1.1) and the security key would be available in the Wireless security settings

Great points. One more from my side: Unless the login is for a dashboard/control panel, make the URL something that is easy to remember.

I mention this particularly with respect to a social network like orkut. Users would prefer to give out their profile ids if they were something like orkut.com/anand rather than how it is at present...

Also, on your first point, I would suggest a provision to login with the email address since that is something unique and hard to forget.

Hawkeye,

     Seeing the posts you have written, I assume that you seem to be technically sound in these aspects. I hope that the knowledge you have is more than sufficient to solve my problem. I have a laptop (WiFi Enabled) and Sify BB connection (256Kbps) at my place. All I want is a wireless connectivity with which I will be able to access internet sitting anywhere at my place without plugging the Sify cable to my laptop. This is my requirement. Can you please send me an email on how to do it. My email id is sasridh@gmail.com.

Greetings,
Sandeep.
