3 BHK flat for wanted in Mumbai
Location – Andheri, Ghtakopar, Powai, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund
Prefer an apartment which is under construction and for which I can get possession by end of the year. Further, need apartments that have their own in-house garden / playarea, Club house and Gymnasium. Proximity to Western / Eastern Express Highways would also be a major consideration factor

As many of you have heard by now, in the near future we’ll be saying goodbye to our corporate icon of 10 years.
It’s funny, when you consider that he’s just a static drawing of a butler-ish figure on a website (and that he was very nearly a “wise owl” or a “wizard” rather than a butler), how much the Jeeves character has come to mean for people over the years
So, finally the time has come to say goodbye to the fancy character that Jeeves was. I still remember, way back, 1998 I think it was, days when Google was not really known and when people used things like Alta Vista and Lycos for search, there was 2 search engines that I had used. One was a thing called FAST, I dont even remember the URL or whether it is still around and in cases where I just couldn’t find what I wanted with FAST, I sought the Butler’s help. Ask Jeeves’ differentiator then was the fact that they had promoted Natural language search … something like, where would I find a chinese restaurant in
Ask Jeeves Blog: Thanks, Jeeves

Whoa ! This is big stuff ! First thing in the morning. Amazon plans to launch MP3 players and a Music download service that attempts to rival Apple’s insanely popular iPod and Itunes. At first sight, this is great because rival music download services such as Napster and Real Network’s Rhapsody never really made it to the big time … neither did MP3 players from the likes of Samsung & iRiver
So, what’s cool about this Amazon deal ?
- Competition for Apple … finally
- Subscription service for downloads – all you can eat for an estimated $ 15 a month
- MP3 players preloaded with Music suiting the users taste, based on Amazon’s famous recommendation service
- Amazon can, besides music downloads, also offer discounted CDs to subscribers
And, what is not so cool ?
- Late … very late entry into the market
- Amazon apparently sells 10 % of the MP3 players in the US, including IPod and with this deals if Apple were to prevent Amazon from selling Ipods, then their top & bottomlines would take a big hit
- Amazon – hardware, manufacturing … well, somehow, this doesn’t quite ring a bell
So, folks … we live in interesting times …
Quoting The Wall Street Journal
Music executives privately welcome Amazon’s plans, which they see as one of the only credible challenges to Apple’s hegemony in both digital music and portable players. Now the question is whether Amazon’s massive customer base is enough to offset a long delay in entering the online music business

Microsoft finally took the wraps out of its OffliceLive initiative which seems to have sent blogsphere into another round of Microsoft bashing. At ZDNet blogs, there is not just a dismisal of this entire initiative as a relaunch of bCentral with a new set of clothes, they also are questioning Microsoft’s ability to deliver a product / service that brings results. and Michael Parekh (in his typical title in caps style !!!) broadly puts together comments from various blogs that states this is something Yahoo! had done some time ago and Google is getting into now and further by calling it OfficeLive MSFT is causing tons of confusion
However, there are fortunately voices that would sound good to Bill G’s ears, Dare Obasanjo aka Carnage4Life did a hands on review (with screenshots) and likes what he sees (wonder if any of the guys throwing dirt on OfficeLive have used it themselves ?). But what matters to me is TechCrunch’s review comments :
For a small company needing a informational website, it will be great. Given that the domain name, website building, hosting and email will all be free, this will be very attractive to a small business
Office Live should become a starting point for small businesses wanting a web presence and a general platform to run their business operations
Net, net … I feel that blogsphere in general seems to be overdoing its bit of Microsoft bashing. I did not see this kind of reaction to some of Google’s recent launches that were way below par (Google Video anybody ?)
Note : I am no Microsoft fan. I have been using Firefox even since the time it was Phoenix 0.5 and my desktop at home runs Ubuntu Linux as a dual boot with Windows
