We want to give anyone a place to tap the collective wisdom of the Internet for advice, recommendations, theories, jokes, … whatever. Anyone can answer. It’s free. And once your question is answered, you get to pick the best answer and the whole thread is archived and searchable. So in addition to getting answers, you’re helping to add to the “the Internet’s” collective knowledge
I think Yahoo! Answers is a great idea and takes the entire concept of Social contribution and mass content creation to the next level. First you can mass publishing in the form of blogging and then we had social bookmarking and things like Wikipedia and now you have Yahoo! Answers which puts all this in the user’s perspective. Ask what you want to know and the people would answer
