Heading to the West Coast

I had asked around some of my friends in the US for some suggestions on what I should be doing in the 3 weekends that I have free during my trip to San Jose in November
The ideas that came out were :
- Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Golden Gate, Napa Valley
I am still looking for sugesstion, any ideas are most welcome
